The Problem

A musical theatre school had a website up and running for several years. They were getting very few enquiries through it, and needed more.  Their organic search results were poor, and none of their keywords were on Google’s Page 1 when searched for.

Our Approach

We conducted keyword research to determine which keywords (that were most specific to the school’s offering) would likely bring not just traffic, but enquiries (conversions). The first step was to get the on-page meta tags and content correct for the keywords. Then, we did a technical audit and fixed some issues with code, broken internal links, and improved the site’s load speed. We also worked off-page, creating high quality links to the website from high-quality websites.  

Ongoing Work

By their own admission, Google changes their algorithm up to 500 times per year.  While most of these changes are minor, occasionally there are some big changes!  We keep up with those changes. We also re-evaluate keywords and look for new ones. We constantly work both on-page and off to get any keyword not ranked in 1st position moved up higher.  

Results

When we first took the account on, no keywords were found in the top 100 positions and no conversions came from organic search. After 6 months, 17 are on the top half of Google’s page 1 of search results, and conversions are being generated.  The website is now a valuable source of sales, and we have been given further sites to work on.
